This article discusses how educators can add culturally responsive critical thinking to their lessons through three strategies: making rules, breaking and shaking the rules, and the most, least, best or worst. These strategies can help educators create provocative essential questions, powerful classroom discussions, and innovative end-of-unit reviews. Furthermore, they encourage learners to give their opinions on classroom rules, to ask lots of questions, to be curious, and to be critical thinkers of the rules they find throughout the world.
