This article discusses how to set an asset-based pedagogy for English language learners. Specifically, it highlights the critical nature of recognizing, validating, and celebrating linguistic diversity and honoring the connection between language use and identity. School administrators and teachers are key drivers in the implementation and uptake of asset-based pedagogies and are encouraged to provide supports to stakeholders in multiple languages, provide and engage in trainings regarding embracing linguistic diversity in the classroom, and inviting family and community members to the classroom to share their expertise with learners.
