Title | Symposium on Teaching Pragmatics in the JFL Classroom |
Body | From: "kazutoh ishida" The University of Hawai'i-Manoa National Resource Center East Asia (NRCEA) and the National Foreign Language Resource Center (NFLRC) at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa are pleased to announce a one-day symposium on teaching pragmatics in the Japanese as a Foreign Language (JFL) classroom. *Time: August 8, 2003, 9:00am - 3:30pm *Place: Kuykendall Hall #305 & #306 *Registration deadline: July 15, 2003 Japanese pedagogy professionals from high schools, colleges, and universities around the country will report on their most recent endeavors in the instruction of various aspects of Japanese pragmatics, including the telling of conversational stories, engaging in small talk/chatting, and being an effective listener in a conversation, among others. This symposium will be of interest to anyone who has an interest in making meaningful conversational interaction a reality in the JFL classroom.
