TitleCASLS InterCom: October 18, 2021
Body

Today, we continue our series on games and fun! This week, we consider the extent to which puzzles and puzzle-based games help learners build critical language learning skills and target language knowledge. Additionally, we would like to extend a special thank you and congratulations to Madi Collins, CASLS Student Worker. Thank you, Madi, for your hard work on this week’s video and activity.

There are a few ways to get connected with us this week:

  • Join our InterCom Live! session. We connect on Facebook every Monday at 11:00 am Pacific. To join us, open CASLS's Facebook page at the designated time. Can't make it? The InterCom Live! events are always recorded, and you can find them on our Facebook page.
  • Check out the Activity of the Week. This activity supports learners in reflecting on how they build critical language skills and knowledge via puzzle-based gameplay.
  • Check out this previous InterCom publication related to puzzle mechanics to incorporate in learning activity design.

Happy exploring! We are excited to continue engaging with you this week.
