The 8th Southern African Microlinguistics Workshop (SAMWOP-8) was held from November 28-30, 2019, and brought together linguists working in Southern African microlinguistics. As usual, a special issue of Stellenbosch Paper in Linguistics Plus has been reserved to showcase articles based on those presented at SAMWOP-8; however, other contributions are also welcome that tie in with the focus of the workshop series. First draft submissions are due May 4, 2020, and can be sent to the guest-editor, Professor Ian Bekker at ian.bekker@nwu.ac.za.
