Using Technology in Second Language Teaching

July 20­–24, 2020

Participants will learn how to use technology to facilitate student use of the target language and get hands-on practice in using computers to promote students' interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational communication skills. By the end of the institute, participants will be able to:

  • Locate authentic multimedia materials for incorporation into the language curriculum;
  • Analyze technology tools and applications to engage students in activities for the three communicative modes;
  • Evaluate effective technology integration into the language curriculum; and
  • Create interpretive, presentational, and interpersonal activities for students that incorporate technology tools and digital multimedia materials.
