TitleBook: Learning English and Chinese as Foreign Languages
Body

From: https://linguistlist.org/issues/30/30-3694.html

This book compares the learning of English and Chinese in two different cultures: Taiwan and England. It demonstrates how the access to English in Taiwan and Chinese in England is marked by social class and family resources. The author argues that this could augment an ‘educational apartheid’ in which the inequality students face learning a language in secondary schools is heightened.
