The Oregon Experience Program (OEP) and Oregon International Internship Program (OIIP) are both well underway! These programs involve international students from different parts of Asia (including China, Taiwan, Korea, and Japan) in experiential language learning and cultural exchange to promote meaningful language acquisition.

The OEP students experience an intensive study abroad program while they are in Oregon. This year’s cohort has been busy at work learning about sustainability and what sustainable development looks like here in Oregon.

The OIIP students engage in practicum internships in Eugene’s K-5 classrooms for the next five months. This year’s cohort comments that they are excited to expand their teaching repertoire and learn the difference between American and East-Asian teaching styles, while simultaneously improving their English and gaining work experience.
