| Body | From: http://ia.utep.edu/Default.aspx?tabid=5021 On behalf of the BEEMS (Bilingual Education with Emphasis in Math and Science) Advisory Council, we cordially invite you to attend the 12th Annual BEEMS Conference at the Undergraduate Learning Center/UTEP, in El Paso, Texas, March 10th to the 12th, 2005. You will have the wonderful opportunity to network with approximately 1,000 teachers, school administrators, school board members, parents and students from the El Paso/Cd. Juárez area, Texas and across the nation. BEEMS 2005 conference theme is The Power of Two Languages. The conference program is highlighted with major sessions and featured speakers. This years BEEMS 2005 program highlights include the following: * Opening Ceremonies! Enjoy our opening ceremonies from community leaders and a warm reception with Mariachi music and food. * Pre-Conference Institute for Administrators and School Board Members! This half-day institute at the Canutillo, I.S.D. will deal with administrators role and the latest legislation rulings concerning education. (March 10) * 11 Pre-Conference School Visits! Visit one of our 11 featured schools with outstanding Dual Language Programs. (March 11) * Parent Institute! Parents will participate in an all day training program to help, inform and enable parents to be more active in their childrens education. * Concurrent Presentations! There will be over 70 sessions presented by educators and researchers throughout the nation focusing on the best educational practices and issues concerning Bilingual Education and Dual Language Programs. * 6 Credited Hours of Gifted & Talented Training! * Trainer of Trainers (TELPAS) workshop!
