Three-week online (asynchronous) institute
 
Participants will discover practical insights on how to enhance the learning of linguistic politeness and boost students' awareness of intercultural differences. During this three-week asynchronous online institute, participants explore the following key topics:
 
• Needs Assessment for (Im)politeness, (In)directness, and (In)formality and Classroom-Based Assessment of Pragmatics
• Theory and Practice of SLA and Instructional Pragmatics
• Textbook Analysis and Adaptation
• Strategies for Learning and Using Speech Acts
