TitleACTFL Summer Internship and Scholars Program
Body

The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages' Summer Internship and Scholars Program is open for applications. The Internship and Scholars Program is designed as a pathway to the profession; its goal is to help recipients:

• Explore the field
• Develop professional and academic skills
• Accumulate experiences that will serve as the foundation for future leadership roles

Scholars work remotely on a single project. Projects are framed by ACTFL staff to further its research priorities and its assessment agenda. Scholars are invited to co-construct the method with which the project/subject matter is approached. Projects typically result in a concrete product such as a technical report, research report, or test specifications.

Interns work in residence at ACTFL headquarters in Alexandria, VA and are invited to co-construct their professional learning goals in collaboration with ACTFL staff. Learning opportunities include a mixture of professional and academic experience in a variety of areas (assessment, curriculum tester training, etc.).

Interns are asked to dedicate 20 hours per week to the internship and receive a stipend of $1,000 per month. Scholars work remotely as consultants and are paid based on project-based activities.

Ideal candidates are self-motivated and professional individuals excited about the learning and teaching of languages.
