The 2018-2019 season of the Youth 4 German Cinema program was designed to give high-school-age students input into the workings of an international film festival. Chosen from a pool of applicants from across North America, the Y4GC program of 2018-2019 will offer high-school-aged students across the U.S., Canada and Central America the opportunity to: go behind-the-scenes and participate at an international film festival; meet industry professionals; participate in artistic workshops; increase cross-cultural awareness through cinema; participate in the selection of two winning films for the Youth 4 German Cinema “Festival Field Trip” that will screen at the festival for hundreds of visiting students of middle schools and high schools from the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California.

Students can compete in a Bundesligal Total! competition by watching a video with highlights of a Match of the Month, then responding to a few questions and making a game prediction. Winners may be invited to Bundesliga Festivals in San Francisco, Chicago, and Washington, DC, in March 2019. Grand prize winners get to travel to Germany.
