TitleFaculty Learning Community in 2019
Body

The Center for Applied Second Language Studies values the ongoing development of reflective practices in teachers and learners. Engaging in meaningful reflection not only promotes intentionality, but it also facilitates the development of a growth mindset and improved outcomes.

An outgrowth of our commitment to reflective practices is our upcoming faculty learning community. This community, which will meet monthly via Zoom for the first five months of 2019, will focus on exploring the distinct stages of reflection: 1) goal setting; 2) choosing ways to meet your goals; 3) experiences for meeting goals; 4) reflecting on goals, strategies, and achievement; and 5) refining goals. Practitioners involved will select their own goals and will collaborate towards the achievement of those goals.

If you are interested in participating in something like this later on, keep an eye on InterCom. An intensive faculty learning community focused on reflective practices will convene over the summer as well! Also, if you would like to be added to a wait list for this upcoming iteration, please email CASLS Assistant Director, Stephanie Knight, at knights@uoregon.edu.
