| Body | Encouraging Higher Education Language Learner Autonomy with Learning Strategies Presenters: Dr. Margaret Gonglewski and Abigail Bartoshesky Date: Monday June 30 - Tuesday, July 1 Cost: $150.00 This institute is designed to help post-secondary educators empower their students to become independent, effective learners. Participants will cover topics such as motivation, class participation, language of instruction, alternative assessment and activities that promote higher-level thinking. Presenters will introduce learning strategies instruction using target culture materials such as texts, songs and video clips. Participants will then explore ideas for teaching learning strategies that provide students with skills and confidence to learn independently.
