The 2nd annual National Teach German Day celebration will take place on Thursday, October 4 during National German Week. Teach German Day is designed to recognize the important role that German teachers play in our schools and communities and encourage the next generation of German teachers.

 

German teachers and students—and all advocates of German language education—engage in a variety of activities to celebrate and promote German. These activities may include school celebrations, special lessons, community events, language advocacy actions, and more. Resources for teachers and advocates to plan a Teach German Day event are available on the American Association of Teachers of German website, including:

 

• a free TEACH GERMAN Day Kit with posters, shirts, stickers, adorable mascot, and other exciting items

• suggested school and community activities and games for all levels

• downloadable promotional items and PR materials

• student contests and tips for social media engagement
