| Body | From https://www.globalsealofbiliteracy.net/the-global-seal/ We've been reporting on the Seal of Biliteracy movement for some time; more and more states are adopting this standard to recognize high school students who are literate in more than one language. However, according to the Global Seal of Biliteracy website, the seal "is generally available only to public school students in participating districts, and the standards for receiving it vary by state." The Global Seal of Biliteracy addresses the limited availability of opportunity to earn a seal by setting consistent standards for a Seal of Biliteracy that is accessible to anyone in any school setting, anywhere in the world. The organization has begun to accept preliminary applications now and plans to begin awarding Global Seals of Biliteracy on January 1, 2019.
