The "Practitioner Toolkit: Working with Adult English Language Learners"
(December, 2004) is a new resource funded by the Office of Vocational and
Adult Education, U.S. Department of Education (http://www.ed.gov/about
offices/list/ovae/index.html) and developed by the National Center for Family
Literacy (http://www.famlit.org/ ) and the Center for Applied Linguistics ( http:/
www.cal.org). The 244-page toolkit provides adult English language learner
(ELL) demographic information, activity packets, parent education resources,
an annotated list of English and Spanish language assessments, and other
materials to help practitioners better serve adult ELL students.
