| Body | El Puente Bilingual School opened in 2003. The North Clackamas School District's board of education enthusiastically supports bilingual education and is committed to program development through 6th grade (and we've begun preliminary plans for secondary). More about our school: - Approximately 60% native English speakers and 40% Spanish dominant children - Magnet school of choice that provides transportation for all residents of NCSD - Currently K-2, adding a class each school year through 6th grade - Superintendent and school board understand and support bilingual education. - Most students have had Spanish pre-school and/or Spanish family literacy through Head Start/Even Start programs. - Located near downtown Milwaukie (just 11 miles outside of Portland, Oregon) We are seeking certified teachers who are native or native-like speakers of Spanish and hold an endorsement for bilingual education, as well as certification for teaching speakers of other languages.
