Want to introduce your students to the best cultural music videos, an inspiring
life story and teach French? Tant Qu'Elle Chante, Elle Vit!: apprendre le
français grâce à l'héritage de CAROLE FREDERICKS is an exciting and
innovative program designed to engage students at their level of interest -
popular music and music videos - and keep them interested in every class.
"Music video clips fuel my classwork" says author and teacher of French,
Nancy Gadbois.

The program is based on the music of Carole Fredericks, an African-American
singer who emigrated to France in 1979. Carole rose to the top of the French
contemporary music charts as one third of the dynamic rock trio, Fredericks
Goldman Jones. Because Carole was a protégée of Jean-Jacques Goldman,
he wrote a special tribute about her for the workbook. The 30 minute
videotape contains six music videos (Á nos actes manqués, Un deux trois, Né
en 17 à Leidenstadt, Respire, Qu'est-ce qui t'amène, Le prix à payer) that are
appropriate for all age groups and student levels. No narration. The
accompanying workbook features des exercices pédagogiques created by
Mme Gadbois and can be adapted to different class levels.

The program includes an assortment of activities: song lyrics, vocabulary lists,
questions about the videos (factual and analytical), word search puzzles and
fill-in-the blank activities. Tant Qu'Elle Chante, Elle Vit! combines culture and
language in a fun and interesting format.
