| Title | Seeking West Coast Hosts for German Exhibit |
| Body | From the AATG-L listserv: As part of the “Deutschlandjahr” in the US in 2019, the Goethe Institute is currently planning the tour of the exhibition “Erfinderland Deutschland – Land of Inventors Germany”. This exhibition will travel the US from the fall of 2018 until the late spring of 2019, and we are still looking for two schools to host the exhibition in the Western parts of the US. Specifically, we are looking for one school in California, Arizona, New Mexico, or Nevada, and one school in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, or Colorado. “Land of Inventors Germany” is a thematic exhibition that focuses on STEM-related innovations that originated in Germany and have changed the world. The exhibition includes both historic achievements as well as contemporary innovations that will help shape our future. In addition it also provides an overview of opportunities in research at German schools and universities. The exhibition is designed for students between the ages of 15 and 25. The ideal school will be able to provide a large space of somewhere between 850 and 1,050 square feet for the duration of one month. A professional logistics company hired by the Goethe Institute will handle both the assembly of the exhibition as well as the process of disassembling it. All the selected schools need to do is to ensure the appropriate handling of the exhibition for the duration of its stay, and to allow students from nearby schools to also visit the exhibit if they are interested.
