Here is an excellent blog post about adaptations that a teacher may need to make in order to spend at least 90% of classroom instruction time in the target language. First, a reminder: "Your goal is not 90% in the target language; your goal is to provide enough good input so your students can reach a higher proficiency level - 90% is the vehicle to make that happen." With that in mind, teachers can be very intentional in their use of English - even to the point of eliminating some of their favorite activities and units from the past when these exceed students' language proficiency.
