Colorín Colorado along with the National Education Association has produced some new videos focusing on good practices for English learners.

The first, ELLs Belong to All of Us: The Role of ESOL Specialists in Collaboration, showcases a 5th-grade team planning a science lesson about the difference between vascular and non-vascular plants. ESOL specialist Katy Padilla plays a key role in advocating for ELLs throughout the lesson planning process and sharing her strategies for engaging and supporting students. The video and supporting resources are available at http://www.colorincolorado.org/classroom-video/ells-belong-all-us-role-esol-specialists-collaboration

The second, Hands-on science fun with ELLs, features ESL teacher Anne Marie Foerster Luu, the 2013 TESOL National Teacher of the Year, talking about some of her favorite science activities to do with ELLs as well as reasons why science is such a great pathway to language.
