Title | Electronic Village Online: Classroom-based Research for Professional Development |
Body | From http://evosessions.pbworks.com/w/page/10708587/What%20is%20EVO The Electronic Village Online (EVO) is a set of online discussions and workshops that takes place every year from mid-January to mid-February, under the auspices of TESOL's CALL Interest Section. The 2018 EVO on Classroom-based research for professional development will be the final event of the International Festival of Teacher-research in ELT (2017–18). Registration will start on 1st January 2018, with participants first going to a 'While-waiting warm-up page' (not yet open), before Week 1 activities begin on 14th January. EVO activities last until the end of Week 5 on 17th February. There may also be some final presentations by participants online in March. Participation will be absolutely free. This EVO Project, led by a team of volunteer teacher educators and supported by several teacher associations, will provide a hands-on introduction to inquiry-based teacher development, especially (though not exclusively) for teachers working in difficult circumstances (large classes, low-resource classrooms, etc.). The five-week workshop will take participants through different stages of teacher-research, engaging them in practical activities to gradually build their confidence in teacher-research.
