TitleCASLS Office Specialist Recognized as 2017 Outstanding Employee
Body

The University of Oregon recognized Kim Larsen as one of seven 2017 Outstanding Employees on campus. Human Resources hosted an award reception on November 28 to acknowledge Kim and the other award recipients, who demonstrate excellence on the job, exemplify the university mission, foster admiration among colleagues, and model high performance standards.

Kim started as CASLS’ Office Specialist 2 in January 2016, providing support for CASLS’ projects and facilitating business and administrative functions. In this short amount of time, she has become a central figure within the center.

“We are fortunate to have Kim as part of our administrative team. She has made our center and the university as a whole a more effective and supportive place to learn and work,” says Associate Director Mandy Gettler.

Kim has taken on key processes in the center. From contributing to grant proposals to providing accountability through project management, Kim ensures that CASLS’ work remains high quality and completed on time. She proactively leads initiatives such as our new venture to become a certified green office.

In addition, Kim fosters a sense of community among CASLS and other departments within our research building. She organizes welcome events for new centers, and other departments seek her out to ask questions about available campus resources.

Congratulations to Kim for being selected as this year’s Outstanding Employee!
