This day-long conference related to the instruction of limited English proficient
and immigrant students will provide professional development to 500
teachers.

Highlights include:

* Opening address by Dr. Suellen Reed, Superintendent of Public Instruction
* Keynote presentation, “Every Child is a Gift,” by Chauncey Veatch the 2002
National Teacher of the Year
* A plenary session on No Child Left Behind/Title III, Language Instruction for
Limited English Proficient (LEP) Students
* National and local presenters on a variety of topics on serving LEP students
* Continental breakfast and lunch with program
* Exhibitor tables offering a variety of instructional and assessment materials
* Networking opportunities with other school districts
