TitleSeal of Biliteracy in the News
Body

The Seal of Biliteracy, a state-by-state initiative to recognize bilingualism in graduating high school students, has been in the news lately.

It will be implemented in Missouri beginning in 2018: http://www.joplinglobe.com/news/local_news/missouri-adds-seal-of-biliteracy-for-graduating-seniors-proficient-in/article_d2391337-e3e5-50f2-8c7d-2c82ef955f52.html

It is being proposed in Michigan: http://news.jrn.msu.edu/capitalnewsservice/2017/10/20/bilingual-michigan-high-schoolers-could-get-diploma-endorsement/

In Florida, the Seal of Biliteracy is available, yet the state also has English-only laws that it hopes will exempt it from a requirement to test large populations of students who speak other languages in their dominant language: https://www.edweek.org/ew/articles/2017/10/25/some-states-with-english-only-laws-wont-offer.html
