Title | Teaching Ideas for "Ser" vs. "Estar" |
Body | Editor's note: A recent discussion on the FLTEACH listserv generated the following suggestions for teaching the uses of "ser" and "estar." ----- 8th graders + Ser and Estar + Activities to Engage = Tricky to Come Up With! I hesitate to mention it, for obvious reasons once you see it, but there are some "Quack Videos" being promoted by Teachers' Discovery for about $15 each, and my kids LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the one I "tried out" on Ser and Estar (plus the one on tener+a+infinitivo.) The catchy little poem/rhyme rhythm did actually seem to help them remember the situations in which each verb is used, as well as the various forms. It isn't the end-all, but it is one piece. You can make up your own or purchase them from Teacher's Discovery. Students love them. Marcus, A. Foreign Language Teaching Forum listserv. FLTEACH@LISTSERV.BUFFALO.EDU (7 Nov. 2004). |
