Title | 28th Annual Statewide Conference for Teachers of Linguistically and Culturally Diverse Students, IL |
Body | From: http://www.thecenterweb.org/irc/pages/f_events-bilingual.html January 24-27, 2005 Hyatt Regency, Oak Brook Illinois Our theme this year is "Many Creeks Enrich the Main Stream." Over the years, we have all worked toward creating an environment that celebrates the variety of languages that students bring with them. For this years conference, we have reached out for the best expertise we could find in such vital areas as literacy, classroom management, academic standards, and student assessment. As always, we will hear from experts in each of these fields and examine exemplary programs. We will focus once again on broad themes how to identify and meet the needs of every child, how to set high expectations for every child, accountability, parent and community involvement, the promotion of equity in the educational community and academic standards.
