Register for one of two English Language Arts (ELA)/English Language Development (ELD) Intensive Summer Institutes. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Dates & Locations: June 13-15, Union City, CA; August 1-3, San Diego, CA
The ELA/ELD Institutes will focus on strengthening teaching and learning in four major areas:
• Fostering collaborative academic conversations among students, abundant writing, and interactive reading around complex texts and intellectually rich content
• Engaging students in text-oriented talk about the language in complex texts
• Observing students closely to provide both planned and just-in-time scaffolding
• Creating positive and culturally responsive learning environments
Who Should Attend
• Teams of four-plus members can include:
• School and district teams of teacher leaders
• Coaches, principals, district staff
• District and county office leaders
• University teacher education faculty
• Community organizations
