Foreign Languages and the Literary in the Everyday: Teaching in the L2 Classroom

Part of the 2017 CERCLL Summer Workshop series focusing on the ways in which different forms of literacy can be incorporated into the language classroom.

The workshop uses the Foreign Languages and the Literary in the Everyday (FLLITE) approach.

Workshop on writing FLLITE literacy lessons
August 3-4, 2017
University of Texas at Austin

Presenters will explain the concept of the literary in everyday life and identify pedagogical principles underlying their FLLITE (Foreign Languages and the Literary in the Everyday) approach as they help participants develop customized FLLITE lessons. Participants will search open educational resources (OER) to find appropriate target language documents (texts, images, videos, audio) and work together to design FLLITE lessons based on those documents.

This workshop is intended for graduate students and higher ed faculty.
