Body | From http://www.colorincolorado.org/videos/meet-authors/juan-felipe-herrera Juan Felipe Herrera is the 21st U.S. Poet Laureate. The son of migrant workers, Mr. Herrera says that he was always moving in his childhood and that his mother in particular bestowed upon him a great love of language and folklore. In this special in-depth interview with Colorín Colorado, Mr. Herrera shares memories of his childhood adventures (and romances) and remembers Mrs. Sampson, the third-grade teacher who had such a profound impact on him and "turned him towards the land of poetry."
