TitleDual Language Education Fundamentals Workshop
Body

The Center for Applied Linguistics is offering two one-day workshops about dual language education. This workshop helps participants understand the fundamentals of dual language education and use that knowledge to evaluate starting or enhancing a dual language program on their campus.

Topics include exploring the research base and learning key components of dual language programming and instruction. Participants will identify strategies for developing and enhancing dual language programs and examine best practices of successful programs. Examples and information from the widely-used Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education will be shared through a range of hands-on activities. Practical research-based instructional strategies and opportunities to share ideas with colleagues are embedded throughout the presentation.

This workshop is designed for PreK-12 administrators, teachers, and teacher teams seeking a solid base of understanding about the fundamentals of dual language and the opportunity to explore, with leading experts in the field, how it can be implemented effectively on their campus.

One workshop will take place in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on April 25, and the other will take place in Charlotte, North Carolina, on April 27.
