Teachers are encouraged to bring Japanese culture into the classroom by
attending a free teacher workshop geared primarily to elementary school
educators but all are welcome. The teacher workshop is organized by the
National Children’s Museum, National Building Museum and ICTE’s Mid
Atlantic Region Japan in the Schools (MARJiS). Saturday, November 20,
2004, 9:00 am- 1:30 pm at the National Building Museum, Washington, DC. A
brand new exhibit with authentic artifacts, “Five Friends from Japan: Children
in Japan Today,” becomes the classroom space. Workshop participants will
receive free resource materials and activities for use in the classroom.
Registration is required. Limited space is available. The deadline is
November 12.
