The Hmong Language Association is a non-profit organization created to promote the teaching and learning of the Hmong language. Visit the HLA website at http://hlassociation.my-free.website/

The HLA will be hosting its first Hmong Language & Culture Workshop on March 4, 2017, in Fresno. The theme is “Sharing Experiences of Teaching and Knowledge of the Hmong Language and Culture”. HLA is seeking presentation proposals related to the Hmong language, culture, literature, history, arts, or music in addition to the teaching or pedagogy. For example, a paper might: critically explore the techniques in teaching pronunciation such as the tones, a skill like reading, a cultural piece like poetry or discuss the teaching approaches and/or personal experiences in using the target language in class or developing teaching materials; analyze a text using elements from various didactic theories; report an empirical study that engages the learning skills; or a research study on the Hmong language.

Submission of abstracts deadline: January 15, 2017
