Professional Development Seminar: National Examinations in World Languages in Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, and Russian
February 11-12, 2017

During the two-day workshop, participants will gain an understanding of the core design and content of the proficiency-based NEWL assessments in world languages, as they relate to course curriculum, exam content, online administration and scoring. Special attention will be given to incorporate local conditions into the design and planning of proficiency-based curriculum, as teachers gain an understanding of and experience with the four sections of the exam. Upon completion of the seminar, participants will receive a certificate of participation and of qualification to administer National Examinations in World Languages series at their home schools.
