Body
"Putting the Pieces Together"

Northwest Conference on Special Education and Cultural and Linguistic
Diversity Interface
Date: Friday, December 10, 2004
Place: Lewis and Clark College, Portland OR

The conference brings together K-12 educational personnel to focus on the
challenges of correctly identifying culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD)
students for special education services - considering questions of pre-referral,
intervention, and referral processes. The conference is designed to
accommodate school teams, which might include classroom teachers, special
educators or ESL specialists, and administrators. There are three all-day
strands, with a wrap-up session at the end, allowing school teams to
specialize and then come together to share learning.
