This event will convene ELL parents and organizers for an evening of discussion, workshops, and strategies.

English language learners (ELL) are one of Oregon’s fastest growing student populations, whose families and communities have made significant contributions to our economy. When provided with quality English language instruction, ELL students can outperform state averages in high school graduation, college attendance and college completion. These students represent tremendous potential for Oregon to achieve key education and workforce goals.

Yet Oregon’s 57,376 ELL students are facing an education crisis shaped by a generation of poor academic performance and graduation rates. Our state policies have historically lacked the necessary urgency and focus to ensure all our children receive a quality education.
