Spokane Regional ESL Conference The Spokane Regional ESL Conference began in 1990 with a few local ESL directors and teachers meeting in the faculty lounge at Gonzaga University. The conference has grown to nearly 400 registrants by 2015 and includes attendees from throughout the state of Washington, Idaho and Montana. The conference is a collaborative effort of representatives from Eastern Washington University, Gonzaga University, the Institute for Extended Learning, Mukogawa Fort Wright Institute, Spokane Public Schools, Whitworth University, the Community Colleges of Spokane, the Central Valley School District, the Intensive American Language Center (IALC) at WSU, the Spokane College of English Language and Moody Bible Institute - Spokane.
