The purpose of this Accountability Institute is to assist local educational
agencies (LEAs) in implementing effective programs and accountability
systems to improve the achievement of English learners (ELs) and immigrant
students.

This institute is part of the California Department of Education's efforts to
provide technical assistance to LEAs in implementing the No Child Left
Behind Act. The target audience for the Institute is superintendents, school
board members, administrators, evaluators, and staff involved in
implementing state and federal programs for ELLs and immigrant students.
