Please join us in celebrating the First Annual National Celebration of Spanglish Day Creative Writing Contest* this October.

While National Spanglish Day occurs on October 1st, in order to encourage and facilitate the broadest possible participation, your student’s submissions are accepted until October 31st, after Hispanic Heritage Month.

The Creative Writing Contest Awards will be held at the 3rd Annual National Symposium of Spanish as a Heritage Language at the University of Oregon, February 18th-20th of 2016. In addition to the awards (which can be accepted in person, or by Skyping into the event), all finalists will be published in a special section of “Hispanic Cultural Experience”: http://faculty.csupueblo.edu/Alegria.Ribadeneira/HispanicExperience/

There will be separate awards for both high school and college-level participants from participating institutions across the United States in three categories: poem, essay, and short story.
