Title | French Resource: Élyséé |
Body | From the Alliance Française de Portland Quoi de Neuf newsletter: If you are looking for free online technology tools to aid in your retention of French, look no further than the French government's website, http://www.elysee.fr. It offers news articles of varying lengths that can be "read aloud" with simultaneous text highlighting. To experience the technology, click here (http://www.elysee.fr/communiques-de-presse/article/entretien-telephonique-train-amsterdam-paris/) for a short report on Hollande's recent telephone call to Obama after the heroic acts of the three Americans on the Thalys train in Belgium. Click on ÉCOUTER (as shown in the graphic below). The software then reads the article to you, highlighting each word as it is spoken. You have the option to set the speed of the audio (we recommend sticking with "moyen" or "rapide"). Combining the visual text with the native-fluent audio, all in the meaningful context of current news events, makes for an effective tool to aid in retention for intermediate and advanced students. Quoi de neuf: Leadership Changes, Experience Hardy, Try Tahiti and More. 31 Aug 2015. |
