Kentucky high schools are accountable to the World Language and Global Competency Program Review this school year, with elementary and middle schools having the option to use it. The Kentucky Department of Education is hosting a series of Kentucky Global Symposia for school and district personnel who have responsibility over Global Competency/World Language Programs, including the Program Review process. The focus is on sharing practical methods for developing global competencies via integration across the curriculum and current models of effective world language programs for K-12 Kentucky schools. Upcoming symposia are September 15 in Corbin, November 9 in Shelbyville, and January 22 in Gilbertsville.
