The American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS) has officially announced the much anticipated Commission on Language Learning. This Commission, which was formally requested by Congress last November, will examine the current state of language education in the U.S.

This Commission will gather leading research on language learning from scholarly and professional organizations, meet several times over the course of the next year, and report back to Congress in the summer of 2016 with its findings.
