Developing Materials for Heritage Learners of Spanish
Thursday, July 30, 2015 - 09:00 to 15:00
The University of Texas at Austin

Presenter(s):
Delia Montesinos (The University of Texas at Austin)
Claudia Holguín (University of Oregon)

Despite their growing popularity, Heritage Spanish programs remain underserved by commercial textbook publishers. This workshop will examine how Heritage Spanish programs can supplement commercially produced materials in order to meet the unique needs of their students. But if program produce their own materials, what should they look like? How best can DIY materials supplement commercial materials? Should they be open educational resources to be shared with other Heritage Spanish programs? In addition to these issues, this workshop will also explore different approaches to developing Heritage Spanish curricula.

The workshop will be held at the Glickman Conference Center, CLA 1.302B, The University of Texas at Austin. If you are traveling from out of town to attend, see the University's Visitor Resources page for travel information.

Lunch is included in this all-day workshop. A nominal tiered fee is charged to cover materials, refreshments, and lunch.
