BodyThe Oregon Social Learning Center (OSLC), in partnership with the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), announces a summer internship for minority undergraduate students. This prestigious internship opportunity is designed to give minority undergraduate students exposure to, mentoring and training in social science research with professional research scientists in Eugene,
Oregon. As part of this internship, students will:

- collaborate with OSLC on the Latino Youth and Family Empowerment research and intervention project - participate in activities of the Latino Research Team - attend a conference of the Society for Prevention Research in Washington, D.C. and a Seattle mini-conference with NIDA student interns - complete independent research in one area of student's interest related to diversity
- prepare presentations for mentors, staff and other interns

Description

Position: NIDA Minority Student Internship with Oregon Social Learning Center Conferences: Society for Prevention Research conference June 11-14 in Washington, D.C.; Mini-conference at end of internship in Seattle Starting date: Early July to mid-August
Time: 8 weeks/full-time 40 hours per week
Stipend: $2720 per student for entire internship
Number of positions: 3
Requirement: minority undergraduate student interested in learning more about research
