Title | False Friends Between Spanish and English |
Body | From http://spanish.about.com/cs/vocabulary/a/obviouswrong.htm Here is a long list of “false friends,” or words that are very similar in both English and Spanish but mean different things. You could take this list and break it up and have students try to match the Spanish word to the correct English meaning and then discuss the differences. For example, students might be interested to know that “constiparse” means to catch a cold, not to be constipated! Access this list http://spanish.about.com/cs/vocabulary/a/obviouswrong.htm |
