Less Commonly Taught Slavic Languages:
The Learner, the Instructor and the Learning Experience in the Second Language Classroom (The North American Context)

Overview:
EWJUS seeks articles that explore and synthesize current developments in the field of Second Language Acquisition and Language Pedagogy, focusing specifically on less commonly taught Slavic languages in the North American context. We welcome both theoretical and empirical studies that focus on, but are not limited to: 1) the Learner, 2) the Instructor, and/or 3) the Learning Experience. Related topics may include: student goals, needs, expectations and motivations for studying a particular Slavic language, individual student differences, beliefs, anxiety and achievement in learning, heritage learners, models for teacher training, the teacher factor in the language classroom, teacher expectations and beliefs, technologically enhanced language learning and instruction, new methods of language learning and delivery, immersion and/or travel abroad language learning, acquisition of professional competence, acquisition of pragmatic and socio-cultural competence, and language learning for specific purposes.

Deadlines and Submission guidelines
Please submit expressions of interest via e-mail by January 20, 2015
Include: Paper title, 250-word abstract, and a 50-word biographical statement.

Final papers are due March 30, 2015

Papers submitted must be in English (max. 9,000 words) and will go through a double blind peer review. Publication is scheduled for late 2015 or early 2016.
