Title | Activity Idea: Coffee House |
Body | From the NCLRC Arabic K-12 Bulletin: "[T]each your students (and others at school) about the role, appearance, and flavor of coffee in Arab culture by creating your own "coffee house" (or cart). You can bring in supplies to produce Turkish or other coffee from the Arab world, practice selling and ordering in Arabic, and learn more about "coffee culture" through discussion. If your students are too young to drink coffee (or you're afraid what will happen if they do!), have them set up a coffee stand or cart to sell to older students or faculty and staff at school. They can teach the community about a fascinating (and delicious) part of Arab culture."
