TitleWorkshop To Introduce New Literature Projects
Body

On Saturday, November 22, 2014, as a part of the MESA conference in Washington, DC, the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies and the Middle East Outreach Council (MEOC) will sponsor a Saturday Seminar and Workshop that introduces three new literature projects for the classroom, in which a list of excellent books have been paired with resources for discussion and background. Attendees will have time to delve into the books and shorter works with their colleagues at the seminar, and we will present an opportunity to create lesson plans with the books to present at their schools or libraries. The three projects were developed by the National Endowment for the Humanities, the New York Council for the Humanities, and MEOC’s Annual Book Awards program. Participants will receive a selection of books and other resources. Lunch will be provided. Please forward to your school or community librarians, as they are welcome. If you are interested in attending, contact the Director of Educational Outreach, Susan Douglass: sld58@georgetown.edu
