From http://africa.uima.uiowa.edu/about/

The Art & Life in Africa website, hosted by the University of Iowa Museum of Art (UIMA), is a freely accessible educational resource that is the product of the collaborative efforts of more than fifty scholars, technicians, collectors and institutions around the world.

According to David Riep, the website “offers thirty-seven essays by prominent scholars on their research in Africa, eleven lengthy chapters on the ways Africans use art in their daily lives, very useful statistics and links for African countries from Morocco to Tanzania to South Africa, images, data, interactive maps on African peoples from Akan to Zulu, thousands of photos of African art in museums and photos of art being used in Africa, and finally twenty-seven videos by numerous scholars over the past thirty years.”

Art & Life in Africa is available at http://africa.uima.uiowa.edu/
